Mountain Camp
July, 2007
Thanks
to the kindness of their sponsors, six children from our "graduate home"
in Novokuznetsk were treated to an exhilarating trip south to the nearby
Altai Mountains. While summer can be long for these kids, our July
mountain camp was a great diversion. It was a wonderful escape from
the summer heat and gave our kids a great opportunity to see some of the
natural beauty of their own country.
Their camp was located near the mountain village of Chemal. They lived in tents and cooked their own meals over an open fire. They spent their daytimes hiking, rock-climbing, and exploring, and the evenings singing and playing games.
