Sending Postal Mail

Your Kemerovo liaison is responsible for sending and receiving all postal mail exchanged between you and your children.  Due to Russian Customs and postal procedures, we cannot receive large parcels sent from abroad.  Large, padded envelopes (or equivalent-sized, SMALL parcels) however are no problem.  All post intended for Kemerovo children should be mailed to the below address:

"Doverie"
Pr. Sovetskiy, 61
P.O.Box 2006
Kemerovo, 650000
Russia

While Russia uses the Cyrillic alphabet, post can be addressed in Latin characters.  But it is strongly recommended that the address be PRINTED very clearly.  To avoid Customs delays and fines, write the address exactly as it appears above; DO NOT add the child's name or any other information to the address.  The return address, with your name, is usually enough for the Liaison to determine who the package is for.  If your parcel contains items for more than one child, please note on each item whom it is for, or provide a list inside the parcel.

Customs Information:  To avoid high customs fees, if you must declare a value for the contents of your parcel, do not declare a value of more than $100.  Also, due to Russian regulations, please do NOT send candy, food items, medications, or vitamins for your child.  Finally, do NOT gift-wrap any items.  Besides customs opening/inspecting items, OSI liaisons must inspect everything that is given to the children.

It is also recommended that mail be sent from your local post office, and stamped "Air Mail / Par Avion."

Mail to Kemerovo from abroad can take up to four weeks.  Sponsors are notified when their mail has been received.
