Christmas Christmas is a special time for many of our India sponsors, and in India itself it is increasingly recognized as an international holiday and, while lacking of our western Holiday traditions and winter climate, Indians are very happy to celebrate Christmas any way they can! This year, we were able to share something of the Christmas spirit with our Pune children, -the very first time for them. This, thanks only to the generosity of Nicholas Tummillo (OSI Treasurer, Savitra's sponsor, all-around good guy). Many thanks Nicholas! On Christmas Day, we hired a bus and took all of our Pune girls to the cinema (their choice!), followed by lunch at a nice restaurant, followed by some leisure time in the park and a hefty Christmas cake for each to take home. It is extremely rare that these children get to experience such activities, so it was a very exciting day for everyone, and very much appreciated! A leisurely walk from the cinema to the restaurant (Anjali, Ruksar, and Arti T. leading the way)...
